Ophthalmic Assistant/Scribe

```Duties```
- Assist ophthalmologists in providing patient care

- Front desk check in and check out
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare patients for examinations and documenting medical history
- Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Provide patient education on eye care and post-operative instructions
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow at the front desk

```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in ophthalmic assisting preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or ophthalmology setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to provide compassionate and professional care
- Familiarity with ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and terminology
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology related to the eye
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and staff members
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
