Ophthalmology Practice with multiple locations in the Greenville/Asheville area is seeking an energetic, service-oriented individual to join our team. Candidate preferred to have Ophthalmology billing experience. Modmed Practice Management System experience desired. Candidate must have a strong work history and billing experience. Must be a flexible team player with strong communication skills.

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in the following skills

• Knowledge of insurance policy guidelines for COB, referrals, prior authorization and portals
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, regulations and portals
• Knowledge of commercial/3rd party payers.
• Data entry, knowledge of coding guidelines and initiatives
• Follow appropriate ICD-10 guidelines as well as CPT guidelines
• Submission of claims electronic/paper, follow through on denied, incorrect and/or unpaid claims
• Submission of corrected, reconsideration and appeal claims
• Use and create daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports
• Work personal and insurance delinquent accounts
• Answer questions from clients, team members, and patients in professional and appropriate manner

Key Responsibilities

• Experience: Minimum [1–2] years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting preferred.
• Medical Billing: (Ophthalmology )1 year (Preferred)
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of ophthalmic equipment and eye anatomy.

• High school or equivalent
