Ophthalmic / Optometric Assistant (Bilingual)

Berkeley Eye Center Cleveland location is seeking a detail‑oriented Bilingual Optometric Scribe to support our providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and assisting with clinical and administrative workflows. This role is ideal for someone fluent in Spanish and English, with strong medical documentation skills and a passion for supporting quality patient care in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient histories, examinations, assessments, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Serve as a bilingual support resource for Spanish‑speaking patients, ensuring clear communication and understanding
• Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and related clinical documentation
• Utilize medical terminology appropriately in all clinical records
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
• Support providers with efficient room flow, task prioritization, and time management
• Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (required)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Experience with prior authorizations preferred
• Strong written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a busy clinical setting
• Demonstrated commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient privacy

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an optometric or medical scribe
• Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice
