Ophthalmic Scribe

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our medical team. As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical records and documents in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience working in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

- Transcribe medical records and documents, including patient histories, examination reports, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient visits, including diagnoses, medications, and test results
- Review and edit medical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with medical office procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure that medical records are complete and up-to-date
- Manage and organize electronic medical records and documents
- Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and communicating with patients
- Utilize computer software and technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Stay current with new medical terminology, procedures, and technologies
- Perform duties in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
- Ensure that all medical records and documents are compliant with federal and state regulations

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment
- Proficiency in computer software and technology, including word processing and electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication and typing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical records and documentation systems
- Familiarity with ER or similar emergency medical procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Experience working in a medical office or similar healthcare environment
- Ability to stay current with new medical terminology, procedures, and technologies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in medical records, medical assisting, or a related field preferred
- Certification as a medical scribe or a medical transcriptionist preferred
- Experience with medical documentation and medical records preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.35 - $24.51 per hour
