Ophthalmic Scribe - Indian Land/Rock Hill

Our leading Ophthalmology Practice is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team for our Indian Land, SC and Rock Hill locations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an optometric or ophthalmic clinical setting and possess the ability to accurately and efficiently document patient encounters in real-time. As an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe, you will work closely with our providers to ensure the highest standard of patient care, facilitate smooth clinic operations, and contribute to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient histories, examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and medical procedures in real-time during patient visits.
• Accurately update patient charts in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring completeness and compliance with practice standards.
• Assist in documenting complex medical terms, procedures, and diagnoses related to ophthalmology and optometry.
• Support providers by ensuring accurate and thorough charting while observing patient exams and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth workflow.
• Help with pre-examination tasks, including obtaining patient histories, and performing basic pre-exam tests as needed.
• Ensure proper HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of all patient information.
• Assist in administrative duties, including scheduling patient appointments and preparing medical records.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism while handling multiple patients and fast-paced environments.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Scribe, or Medical Scribe in a clinical setting, with a solid understanding of ophthalmic and optometric terminology and procedures.
• Strong proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and documentation software.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in real-time.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on accuracy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology and procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical scribe certification, or any healthcare-related coursework or degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
