$25.00 – $30.00 per hour - starting rate commensurate with experience
Pennsylvania Retina Specialists is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe/Technician to join our growing retina practice. This position works directly with a retina specialist to provide real-time clinical documentation and support efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities
Ophthalmic Scribing and Clinical Documentation
- Accurately document physician exams, findings, and treatment plans in Nextech EMR
- Enter diagnosis and procedure coding at the physician's direction
- Ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation
- Support efficient clinic flow by preparing charts and coordinating documentation
Clinical and Technical Support
- Assist the physician with minor in-office procedures
- Facilitate patient consents and procedure preparation
- Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions
- Coordinate with the front desk and billing on scheduling and documentation needs
Ophthalmic Technician Duties (as needed)
- Perform patient workups, including visual acuity, history, and testing
- Perform ophthalmic imaging (OCT, fundus photography, visual fields, etc.)
- Assist with injections and in-office procedures
- Support clinic operations across multiple locations
Requirements
Required:
- Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Scribe
- Strong ophthalmic knowledge and clinical workflow understanding
- Strong typing and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Reliable transportation to travel between office locations
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Retina experience strongly preferred
- COA, COT, CRT, or Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (IJCAHPO)
- Experience with Nextech/MDI or similar ophthalmology EMR
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
