Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and vision health. Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records using EMR systems such as Nextech Intellichart Pro.
  • Measure vital signs including visual acuity and confrontational fields to assist in diagnosing eye conditions.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary tests such as tonometry, and refraction using aseptic techniques.
  • Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during exams and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of diagnoses, treatment plans, and billing codes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. .
  • Follow clinic protocols for infection control, medical coding, billing procedures, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred but not necessary. We will train you!
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and ophthalmic procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
  • Experience with intake processes, aseptic technique, and clinical testing procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
