Ophthalmology/Retina Practice in Cedar Park is seeking an ophthalmic technician. Position is part time- Mondays and Thursdays in Cedar Park, Tuesdays in Georgetown. Prior experience in ophthalmology or retina required. Spanish fluency preferred.
Job description:
- Patient workup: Obtaining patient history, performing basic ophthalmic workup, and administration of eyedrops.
- Computer skills: Must be comfortable with using electronic health record software, and be able to touch type.
- Diagnostic testing: Obtaining OCT, fundus photography, and FA. Ability to safely perform venipunctures (or willingness to learn) is preferred.
- Clinical care: Prepare exam and procedure rooms for patients and assist with in-office procedures. Coordinate patient flow from check-in to check-out.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills required to assist with patient education regarding eye disease, medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures; to coordinate care with referring physicians and staff. Complete patient paperwork, return patient phone calls. Reception and front desk duties as required when not seeing patients.
- Maintain clinical rooms (cleaning, stocking), housekeeping of clinic, be a team player and participate with others to accomplish tasks, make a positive contribution to morale, seek educational opportunities and accept responsibility for own professional growth and development, other duties as assigned.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
