Ophthalmic Technician (Full-Time & Part-Time)
Role Overview:
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be an integral part of the medical team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and performing various pre-examination tests before the patient sees the doctor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain comprehensive patient medical histories.
- Perform pre-testing procedures, including:
- Intraocular pressure measurements
- Vision assessments
- Neutralizing glasses
- Refractometry
- Topography
- Glare testing
- Enter test data and patient history into electronic medical records (EMR)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience as an ophthalmic technician, optometric technician, medical scribe, or optician.
- Graduates of medical assisting or optician programs are desirable.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR systems.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask in a team environment.
Ophthalmic Scribe (Full-Time & Part-Time)
Role Overview:
The Ophthalmic Scribe works alongside doctors, documenting findings in electronic medical records and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately document doctors' findings in EMR systems.
- Perform specialized medical coding and billing for exams and ophthalmic testing.
- Type consultation letters and manage patient correspondence.
- Escort patients to checkout or testing areas.
- Obtain signed consent forms from patients before medical procedures.
