Job Summary
Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmology Retina Scribe, where you will play a vital role in supporting ophthalmologists specializing in retinal care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for capturing precise clinical notes, managing electronic health records, and supporting the delivery of exceptional retinal care.
Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe detailed physician-patient interactions during retinal examinations and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining comprehensive and organized medical documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support ophthalmologists by documenting findings related to ocular physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to retinal health.
- Manage and update patient medical records, ensuring all data is complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy regulations.
- Utilize typing skills efficiently to produce real-time clinical notes during patient visits.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely recording of patient histories, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology to accurately capture complex clinical details.
- Assist with general administrative tasks related to medical documentation and record keeping.
- Support emergency room or urgent care settings when needed by providing precise documentation under pressure.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transcription services in a medical setting or healthcare environment.
- Prior medical office experience, particularly within ophthalmology or specialized eye care clinics.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient data management.
- Strong understanding of ocular physiology, anatomy, and relevant medical terminology related to retina health.
- Excellent typing skills with high accuracy for real-time note-taking during patient encounters.
- Knowledge of medical documentation standards and procedures to ensure compliance and completeness.
- Experience working on fast-paced clinics is a plus.
- BCVA
- OCT testing
- Fluorescing Angiography (FA) experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, staff, and patients while maintaining confidentiality. Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
