Position Summary
The OPD Manager oversees the daily operations of the Out-Patient Department to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality patient care, adherence to medical standards, and smooth coordination between clinical and non-clinical teams. This role ensures optimal patient experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities1. OPD Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day functioning of the OPD, including registration, billing, triage, consultation rooms, and patient waiting areas.
- Ensure timely opening/closing of OPD and proper availability of staff and resources.
- Monitor patient flow to reduce waiting times and improve service efficiency.
2. Patient Experience & Service Quality
- Ensure a safe, clean, and patient-friendly environment.
- Handle patient concerns or complaints and ensure quick resolution.
- Implement patient satisfaction surveys and draft improvement plans.
3. Staff Management
- Supervise receptionists, nursing staff, coordinators, and support staff in OPD.
- Manage staff scheduling, rostering, and daily work allocation.
- Conduct training programs for staff on customer service, processes, and hospital protocols.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing heads, diagnostic departments, pharmacy, billing, and insurance teams.
- Ensure accurate communication of doctor schedules and any changes.
- Arrange interdepartmental meetings to resolve operational challenges.
5. Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, medical ethics, and regulatory guidelines (NABH/JCI if applicable).
- Maintain proper documentation, patient records, and OPD statistical reports.
- Ensure infection control practices are followed within OPD areas.
6. Resource & Inventory Management
- Ensure availability of medical consumables, equipment, and supplies.
- Coordinate with procurement and biomedical teams for maintenance or replacement of equipment.
- Manage budgeting for OPD operational expenses.
7. Performance Monitoring
- Track OPD KPIs like patient volume, waiting time, TAT (Turnaround Time), and staff productivity.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly OPD performance reports for management.
- Implement process improvements based on data analysis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
