JOB PURPOSE


The Optical Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical guidance, training, and support across markets. He/she ensures operational excellence, develops product assortments, enhances customer journeys, and supports the expansion of the Optical business into new stores and regions.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Deliver technical training and mentorship to store teams on optical products, services, and operations in collaboration with Brand and Sales teams.
  • Recommend, create, and optimize optical product assortments tailored to customer needs and market demands.
  • Support the setup and successful launch of Optical business operations in new markets and stores.
  • Monitor and analyze optical performance metrics, identifying trends and proposing actions to improve results.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to design initiatives that enhance optical sales and strengthen brand positioning.
  • Design and recommend improvements to the in-store optical customer experience and journey.
  • Act as the main point of contact with lens and optical product manufacturers to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, document, and circulate operational best practices across stores to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Prepare and communicate reports on optical sales, forecasts, and business insights to senior management.
  • Participate in recruitment processes for optical specialists by assessing technical skills and ensuring proper fit, in collaboration with Brand and Sales teams.

Qualifications

LANGUAGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS


Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in Arabic is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Specific Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of optics, lenses, and optical products.


EDUCATION


Bachelor’s degree in Optometry, or Optical Science, or a related field.


EXPERIENCE


Six to nine years of experience in Optical Retail, or Optical Operations, or a related field.

Prior experience in optical training, product management, or technical support roles is a plus.
