Job Description: Optical/Clinical Assistant
This role typically blends administrative support with preliminary clinical testing.
- Summary: We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented individual to join our team. You will be a primary point of contact for patients, assisting with both front-office duties and basic clinical pre-testing.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and verify insurance coverage.
- Clinical Support: Perform preliminary eye tests (e.g., visual acuity, "air puff" pressure tests, and retinal imaging).
- Optical Sales: Assist patients with frame selection and educate them on lens types and contact lens care.
- Administration: Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), handle billing/coding tasks, and manage frame inventory.
- Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
Basic computer literacy; experience with EMR systems like Crystal PM is a plus.
Optional: Certified Optometric Assistant (COA) or Technician (COT) status.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
