Optician

Beyond Vision Center Optometry (BVC) is looking to add another fun, reliable, and caring Optician to our growing eye care team in La Costa. At BVC, our mission is to provide patients with a unique experience that goes beyond achieving 20/20 vision. We strive to provide effortless vision so our patients can perform without visual stress everyday! Every patient encounter is customized to meet their individual needs.

The person who joins our team should be a motivated individual who wants to learn more about eye care and is passionate about being an integral member of the eye care team. This candidate must be friendly and social such that patients enjoy their experience at BVC from the moment they schedule their appointment. Experience in customer service and optometry is required as well as excellent communication skills.

Education:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications:

- Optician experience: 1-2 years (required)

- Customer Service Experience: 2 years (required)

- Sales Experience: 2 year (preferred)

Salary:

- $22-24 per hour depending on experience with subject to increase after onboarding

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Scheduling appointments via phone calls, text messages and our online Weave platform.

- Answering phones, booking patient appointments, verifying insurance, as well as checking patients in and out of the office

- Scanning medical charts into the Electronic Health Records

- Performing pre-tests such as autorefraction, fundus photography, visual fields (experience not required)

- Ordering patient products including frames, lenses, contact lenses, sunglasses, and more (experience required)

- Fitting and styling patients with frames according to their lifestyle, prescription and preference
