Ungricht Parker Eye Associates is a busy ophthalmology practice with four providers seeking a full-time Optician to join our team. We offer competitive pay and benefits and are looking for someone who is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient care.

In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional eye care and customer service. This position combines technical expertise with compassionate patient interaction, ensuring each patient receives personalized optical solutions in a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and style preferences
• Measure and verify pupillary distance, frame fit, and lens alignment to ensure optimal visual comfort
• Verify vision insurance benefits and assist patients in understanding coverage, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs
• Accurately maintain and update patient medical records
• Support optical billing and administrative processes
• Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in optical retail or a clinical setting preferred
• Experience verifying insurance eligibility and understanding vision benefits is highly preferred
• Knowledge of ophthalmology, eye anatomy, and medical terminology is a plus
• Experience with medical billing and coding related to vision care is highly preferred
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with patients of all ages
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
