Optician Receptionist

Are you a Pre-Optometry student looking for clinical hours to apply to optometry school? We are looking for a motivated Optician/Receptionist to join our friendly and dynamic team at our optometry office. If you’re eager to learn, ready to multitask, and have an interest in eye care, we want to hear from you!

Position: Optician/Receptionist

Job Types: Part-Time positions available, 1 day per week minimum ( Specifically hiring for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)

*Must be able to work full shift, no half-day available

Location: In-person

Hours of Operation:

Monday – Friday: 11:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

CLOSED on Sundays and Wednesdays

Key Responsibilities:

• Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information
• Assisting with pretesting patients and working alongside the optometrist
• Dispensing eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses
• General administrative duties, including patient records management
• Ensuring HIPAA compliance to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
• Providing excellent customer service and patient care

Qualifications:

• Optical experience is preferred but not required—willing to train the right candidate
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written
• Must be outgoing, reliable, and able to multitask efficiently
• Must have a passion for learning and assisting others
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience in an optometric setting is helpful, with a working knowledge of health insurance eligibility and benefits processes.
• Bilingual in Chinese is a plus!
