Optician/Billing

New practice in Norman, Eye Medical Group, seeks an individual to fill a full-time Optician/Billing position.

We prefer applicants that have at least 3 months of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry practice.

The candidate should be comfortable answering phone calls in a professional manner, and using computers. They will be trained in utilizing the medical and vision insurances the practice accepts and how to correctly determine the insurance and patient portion.

Other responsibilities include patient work-up, instilling drops, conducting refractive and visual tests, ophthalmic testing including: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), automated visual fields and fundus photography, patient assessment, taking patient history, assisting provider, etc. Must be organized, multi-task oriented, energetic and possess a positive, professional attitude. Experience in ophthalmology or optometry, having computer skills and a knowledge of patient care principles is strongly encouraged.

The assistant will also analyze prescriptions and make recommendations to provide the highest quality vision care to patients. They will also fit, measure, and adjust eyeglasses to meet our patients’ needs and expectations, and resolve any difficulty a patient may experience regarding vision care.

Our practice is open Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:15 pm and Fridays 8:30 am to 3:15 pm. Eye Medical Group offers a competitive salary package with incentives over the years.
