Optician/Optical Tech/Optical Sales

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. You will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses or contact lenses, as well as providing guidance on lens selection and frame styling. Responsibilities:
- Professionally assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses based on their prescription and individual needs
- Provide guidance on lens selection, frame styling, and proper eyewear care
- Take accurate measurements of customers' facial features and optical parameters to ensure proper fit and alignment of eyewear
- Adjust frames and lenses to achieve optimal comfort and visual clarity for customers
- Educate customers on proper eyewear usage, maintenance, and cleaning techniques
- Process orders for eyewear, including verifying insurance coverage and collecting payment
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and transactions in electronic medical record
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology

- Cutting eyeglass lens materials/complete spectacle orders, verify incoming orders made through insurance.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optical principles, lens materials, and frame styles
- Proficiency in using optical equipment such as lensometers, pupillometers, frame adjusting tools and lens cutting/edging equipment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers of all ages and backgrounds
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of medical coding related to vision care services is preferred but not required
- Experience in retail sales or retail management is a plus
