Responsibilities
- Assemble, align, and calibrate optical components such as lenses, mirrors, lasers, and detectors with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct optical testing and measurements using specialized equipment to ensure system performance meets specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, test results, and system configurations within electronic records systems.
- Troubleshoot optical system issues promptly by analyzing data and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop new optical setups or improve existing systems for research projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to laser use, chemical handling, and cleanroom procedures.
- Assist in the development of technical reports and presentations to communicate findings clearly to team members.
Skills
- Proven experience working with optical systems, photonics devices, or laser technology.
- Familiarity with electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus for understanding data management processes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology enhances understanding of clinical applications.
- Experience with medical office procedures including medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and medical records management is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Epic electronic health record platform or similar healthcare software is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and optical diagrams accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
