Optometric Technician

We are a growing Optometry office looking for a part-time Optometric Technician. A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and top-notch work ethic are required. The office is looking for someone who is excited to engage with people and has a passion for patient care. On the job training is provided.

Duties:
-Perform preliminary tests and measurements on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision tests.

-Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and chief complaints.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging.
- Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing their inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.

Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent required.

-Customer service experience.

-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

-Professional manner.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-Ability to multitask and stay organized.

-Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
