Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional patient care within a busy optometry practice. This role involves supporting clinical operations, managing patient intake, and ensuring accurate documentation while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. The Optometric Technician will play a vital role in enhancing patient experiences and supporting the clinical team with various technical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist with patient intake, including collecting medical history and updating records
  • Pretesting patients including: Autorefractor, visual acuities, Visual Fields, Retinal Photos, OCT and contact lens insertion and removal training.
  • Assist with ocular examinations by preparing patients and equipment for the optometrist
  • Manage medical records accurately within EMR systems such as OfficeMate or other electronic health record platforms
  • Front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and managing patient flow and office cleaning.

Requirements

  • Optometric Tech: 1 year
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinic procedures related to eye care
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as OfficeMate
  • Experience with optical equipment and retail sales is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
  • Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes related to eye care services is advantageous

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
