Optometric Technician / Scribe

Optometric technician in a fast-paced, professional practice focused on premium eye care and personal development of team members. Prior experience required.

Duties include pretesting, scribing, performing visual fields, OCTs, fundus photos, topographies, and other ancillary patient testing.

Focus of the position is direct assistance to the doctor during patient care and scribing. Experience with coding is required.

Ideal candidate is an independent worker with aptitude to initiate learning new skills. General office work and computer knowledge is expected.

Starting wages are commensurate with experience, knowledge, and demonstrable skills

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Has reliable, daily transportation.
  • Can spontaneously engage with strangers.

  • Is self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

  • Are you well-versed in the medical terminology related to eye anatomy? The successful applicant for this job will be able to describe the various parts of an eye examination using correct terminology and be able to described the most common eye conditions (refractive and health) in language that is understood by the non-ophthalmic person.
