- Prepare patients for optometrist by operating AutoRefractor, hand-held tonometer, Octopus Visual field machine, and Retinal Camera as needed on patient by patient basis, working efficiently and with care to provide a caring patient environment as well as ensure office stays on schedule.
- Check in patients and ensure all required paperwork and documents as well as insurance cards are collected and scanned before appointment.
- Answer phone to: schedule patients, process contact orders and/or settlement of balances, answer basic questions regarding eye health, insurance, and office procedures on a patient by patient basis
- Schedule patients, being mindful of procedures and length of service. Verify vision or medical insurance.
- Call to confirm patient appointments
- Operate scanner and fax scanned documents
- Shred scanned and filed patient records
- Sort incoming invoices into their proper folders
- Handle incoming packages/mail: sort contacts into proper patient trays if applicable and notify patients of arrival, put supplies in their proper storage location, sort out junk mail, etc.
- Promptly handle incoming and outgoing faxes: take proper action based on contents of the fax on a patient by patient basis.
- Promptly handle emails from patients
- Promptly handle texts from patients
- Order contacts for patients
- Other general organizational tasks as needed

- MUST be tech savvy and understand Windows computers. We don't need you to be a programmer, but you should understand the basics of how computers work and have basic troubleshooting abilities. Must know how to use file explorer and understand how computers and peripherals interact with each other on a basic level.
