Job Summary:

The Optometrist is responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, performing refraction tests, assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosing vision problems, and ensuring accurate prescription of corrective lenses. The role also involves patient counselling, pre- and post-operative care support, and maintaining clinical documentation with high professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform refraction tests and determine the correct prescription for patients.
• Conduct preliminary eye examinations including visual acuity, slit-lamp examination, tonometry, and other diagnostic tests.
• Assist ophthalmologists during OPD consultations, minor procedures, and patient counselling.
• Manage and maintain patient records, reports, and test findings accurately.
• Educate patients about eye health, contact lens care, and post-surgery instructions.
• Support the doctor in pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
• Ensure timely and efficient patient flow in the OPD.
• Handle and maintain optical instruments and equipment with proper care.
• Coordinate with the counsellor and front office for smooth patient service.
• Participate in eye camps, screenings, and community outreach programs as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: B.Optom / M.Optom (Bachelor or Master in Optometry)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (freshers can also apply)
• Preferred Industry: Eye Hospital / Clinical Setup
