Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometrist and play a vital role in providing comprehensive eye care to diverse patient populations. This position is ideal for someone seeking a part-time, weekend-focused schedule with a production based compensation model.

You will be the first optmetrist integrated into out practice.

Billingual is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular diseases related to systemic health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension
• Utilize medical terminology accurately when documenting patient records and communicating findings with patients and healthcare teams
• Maintain meticulous medical records in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Conduct patient care activities including measuring vital signs, assessing physiology and anatomy of the eye, and applying aseptic techniques during examinations to prevent infections
• Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, proper use of corrective lenses, and preventive care strategies
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers for specialized cases requiring advanced ophthalmology expertise or surgical referrals
• Engage in customer service by addressing patient concerns with empathy, providing clear explanations, and ensuring a positive experience during each visit
• Support optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear solutions based on individual needs while adhering to medical coding standards for billing purposes
