Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and overall eye health using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for complex cases involving ophthalmology or pediatrics.
- Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during examinations and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical principles for fitting lenses.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessments and interpret medical records accurately.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and medical coding practices.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and clear communication.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $132,821.98 per year
