Optometrist

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Your expertise will help patients of all ages improve their vision and overall eye health. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about patient care, possesses strong knowledge of ophthalmology and physiology, and is committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity and eye health.
  • Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of eyewear or contact lenses.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and utilize aseptic techniques during examinations to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with optical staff to recommend suitable eyewear solutions and assist in sales when appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice.
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and medical coding practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with optical experience, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards.

Pay: $500.00 - $700.00 per day
