Optometrist (Eye Hospital)

*Job Title:* Clinical Optometrist

*Reports To:* Consultant Ophthalmologist

*Job Summary:

* We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Optometrist to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive eye examinations, assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosis and management, and ensuring a high standard of patient care and satisfaction.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Conduct detailed refraction and vision assessment for patients of all age groups.

* Perform anterior and posterior segment evaluations using slit-lamp and fundus examination.

* Carry out pre- and post-operative assessments for cataract, LASIK, ICL, and other ophthalmic surgeries.

*Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as:*

* Keratometry / Tonometry / Pachymetry

* Visual Field Testing

* Topography / OCT / A-Scan / Specular Microscopy (as applicable)

* Assist ophthalmologists in clinical decision-making and treatment planning.

* Educate patients regarding eye conditions, contact lens care, and preventive eye health.

* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.

* Ensure proper functioning and calibration of optometric instruments and diagnostic equipment.

* Participate in clinical camps, awareness drives, and community outreach programs as required.

*Qualifications & Requirements:*

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom) from a recognized institute.

* Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience in a reputed eye hospital or clinic (freshers may also apply).

* Sound knowledge of refraction techniques, ocular diseases, and clinical instrumentation.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a team-based clinical environment.

*Preferred Skills:*

* Experience in Refractive Surgery (LASIK/ICL) work-up and Cataract Pre-op evaluation.

* Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

* A patient-centric approach with empathy and professionalism.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
