Optometry Front Desk, Receptionist, Assist in Glasses Sales

At Cleveland Vision Center, we are centered in patient care with a goal of providing the best comprehensive eye care in a private office setting. We are passionate about helping our patients achieve their best vision and also manage any ocular diseases.
As an optometry front desk administrative assistant/receptionist, you will be the FIRST person our patients will interact with, by phone or in person. You will also work alongside doctors and various staff as well as coordinate care with other providers with a common goal of individualized care for each patient. Your role will mostly be guiding patients through scheduling, verifying insurance benefits, intake, assisting with glasses selection and benefits and collecting payments.

Job description duties (including but not limited to):

  • Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, assist in patient communication and recalls.
  • Verify medical and vision insurance benefits and have prepared before patient arrival
  • Accurate data entry
  • Take payments in person and over the phone
  • Assist with physician referrals
  • Assist in all areas of the clinic (technician/optical) when needed
  • Assist in glasses sales
  • Perform various duties and responsibilities as determined by the doctor or office manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in medical/optometry reception/front desk position strongly preferred
  • Basic familiarity with HIPPA requirements
  • A friendly disposition and desire to help our patients
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly disposition and willingness to help patients and in all office aspects
  • Dedication to working on a multidisciplinary team toward common goals

** Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in Optometry Office Setting
  • ***Preference will be given to those with experience in glasses sales
  • 1 year of work experience in a healthcare office setting, preferably optometry

Compensation: Based on experience

Benefits: After 1 year employee will receive paid vacation and sick days as well as the ability to participate in 401k match.

Schedule: currently: Monday-Thursday: 8:00AM - 5:00 PM; Friday 8:30 AM-12:00 PM: Subject to change

Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines):

  • Physical activity: standing, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, hearing
  • Physical requirements: able to lift 15 lbs no a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs from waist to shoulder, and 5lbs from shoulder to overhead
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and throuroughness of the work assigned .

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
