Optometry Receptionist

Want to have more days and time off than the time you work and still be considered full time and get full time benefits? Our patient load has grown to the point that we are now needing 2 full time teams to work consistent 3.5 day schedules! However, to meet our growing demand, we didn’t just want to increase patient accessibility, we also saw it as an opportunity to provide our staff with greater work life balance by shifting from a 5 day to 3.5 day work week. We are looking for a caring, friendly, enthusiastic, hard-working, and patient-focused professional who is seeking a rewarding, full time, and long term position in our well-established optometric private practice. The schedule we are hiring for is Sunday Noon to 5:00 pm, Monday 7:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Wednesday 7:30am to 2:00pm.

Comprehensive training provided for all aspects of the position. This individual must be a quick-learner, organized, computer-savvy (type a validated at least 40 words per minute), hard-working and reliable, as they will be joining a high performing team with exemplary patient care. They must enjoy being challenged, learn very quickly and have the ability to work in an environment where the practice sees over 60 exams, 200 phone calls and 75 glasses and contact lens fittings a day. We are looking for someone long term that will do whatever it takes to genuinely care and serve patients and their team members so they experience the best customer service and work environment as possible.

Job duties may include any of the following depending on proficiency and previous experience:

* Be the First Warm, Friendly Face to Greet Incoming Patients

* Checking in and Checking Out Patients

* Answering Phones and Scheduling Appointments

* Helping Verify Insurance Authorizations and Filing Insurance Claims

* Manage several doctors’ appointment schedules as well as discern, enter, and make decisions regarding different types and levels of patient appointments.

* Navigate different electronic medical records systems on the computer.

* Responding to our Patient Email Inquiries and Appointment Requests

* Preparing Routing Slips for Next Day Patients

* Calling Patients for Glasses Pickup

* Helping with Patient Flow

Previous Experience in the Optometric field is a Plus, but We Will Train All Necessary Skills and Knowledge for this position.
