Optometry Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and assisting optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services. Duties

• Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing equipment and ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
• Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patients with information regarding their eye health and treatment options.
• Manage front desk responsibilities, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
• Utilize medical coding for billing purposes and ensure proper documentation of services rendered.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
• Support retail sales by assisting patients with optical products and providing guidance on eyewear options.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient office environment.

Experience
Candidates should have prior experience or knowledge in the following areas:

• Medical coding and billing practices relevant to optometry.
• Front desk operations within a healthcare setting.
• Aseptic techniques used in clinical environments.
• Understanding of physiology as it pertains to eye care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Experience in optical retail sales, including knowledge of retail math principles.
