Job Description – Oracle Exadata Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Exadata Engineer with strong expertise in migrating Oracle Databases from standard Oracle platforms to Exadata. The ideal candidate should have 8–10 years of hands-on experience in database engineering, administration, and migration, with proven success in large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from standard Oracle platforms to Oracle Exadata.

• Perform Exadata configuration, installation, and performance optimization.

• Assess current Oracle database environments, identify migration strategies, and define detailed execution plans.

• Implement data migration, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions.

• Ensure optimal performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability of Exadata systems.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure smooth migration with minimal downtime.

• Troubleshoot and resolve Exadata hardware and software issues.

• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and disaster recovery requirements.

• Prepare detailed migration runbooks, documentation, and post-migration reports.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator/Engineer.

• Proven experience in migrating Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c) to Exadata platforms.

• Strong expertise in Oracle Exadata architecture, RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.

• Hands-on experience in backup and recovery using RMAN.

• Solid understanding of performance tuning, partitioning, and SQL optimization.

• Experience with patching, upgrades, and Exadata storage/cell server management.

• Familiarity with GoldenGate or other replication tools is a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Exadata environments.

• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
