Job Title: Part-Time Consultant – Oracle 19c & SAP ECC Migration

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle & SAP ECC Migration Consultant to support planning, execution, and validation of SAP ECC systems running on Oracle databases. The consultant will work closely with Oracle DBA, SAP Basis, Linux, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migrations with minimal downtime, strong rollback readiness, and stable system performance.

This role requires hands-on expertise in Oracle 19c, SAP ECC 6 EHP 8, and Oracle Linux environments, along with the ability to document, validate, and recommend best-practice migration approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Readiness

• Assess existing SAP ECC and Oracle database landscapes
• Perform Oracle DB and SAP system health checks
• Validate operating system, Oracle, and SAP software readiness
• Review backup, restore, and rollback strategies
• Define migration and cutover approaches

Migration Execution

• Execute Oracle database migration using appropriate techniques
• Perform or support SAP ECC homogeneous system moves
• Coordinate database switchovers and SAP application cutover
• Ensure controlled execution with minimal downtime

Validation & Stabilization

• Validate SAP ECC application functionality post-migration
• Perform Oracle database health and performance checks
• Validate High Availability and standby configurations
• Execute and document rollback procedures
• Identify and resolve migration-related issues

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain detailed technical documentation
• Report risks, issues, and mitigation plans
• Provide technical recommendations and best practices
• Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams

Skills & Expertise:

• Oracle Database Administration – Oracle 19c Enterprise
• SAP ECC 6 EHP 8 administration and migration support
• Oracle Linux 8.x installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Oracle migration tools and techniques: Data Guard, ZDM, RMAN
• SAP homogeneous system copy / system move
• Database switchover and cutover execution
• Backup, restore, and rollback strategy implementation
• Oracle database performance monitoring and tuning
• SAP application connectivity and post-migration validation
• High Availability and standby environment handling
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Technical documentation and reporting
• Effective collaboration with DBA, SAP Basis, and infrastructure teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in SAP ECC database or OS migrations
• Exposure to SAP-certified Oracle environments
• Familiarity with enterprise change and release processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Job Types: Contractual / Temporary, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
