Adirondack Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AOMS) is a well-established, privately owned oral surgery practice with three locations throughout the Capital Region of New York. Our board-certified surgeons provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial procedures, including wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and sedation services.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Full-Time Oral Surgery Assistant who is personable, organized, motivated, and passionate about helping patients. No previous oral surgery experience is required—we will provide hands-on training to the right candidate. This position is ideal for individuals interested in developing a long-term healthcare career.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for consultations, surgical procedures, and sedation
- Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories
- Provide clear pre- and post-operative patient education
- Operate radiologic equipment
- Maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and treatment areas in accordance with OSHA and infection-control standards
- Support the surgical team in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, and team members
Qualifications
- Friendly, professional, and engaging personality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn new clinical skills and follow step-by-step instructions
- Comfortable receiving feedback while acquiring new competencies
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented
- Experience with medical or dental terminology strongly encouraged
- Software proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR systems, or healthcare applications (preferred)
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, medical assistant, or surgical assistant is a plus—but not required
