Oral Surgery Assistant

Job Overview

Join our office as a Dental Assistant and play a key role in patient care and clinical procedures. This paid position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment committed to providing exceptional oral healthcare. As an essential member of our team, you will assist with oral surgery procedures, support patients throughout their treatment experience, maintain strict infection control standards, and help ensure efficient clinical operations. Cross train front desk- experience in scheduling, and insurance claims needed. Your skills and compassion will contribute to positive outcomes and exceptional care for patients undergoing wisdom tooth extractions, dental implant placement, and other advanced oral surgery procedures.

Duties

  • Assist in sterilization of dental instruments.
  • Assist during surgical procedures maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Experience working with patients undergoing sedation.
  • Prepare patients for treatment by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring proper sedation protocols are followed.
  • Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Create treatment plans for patient, discuss payment options, schedule appointments.
  • Must have knowledge of dental terminology, aseptic technique, and infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions related to their treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient clinic operations.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in oral surgery.
  • Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques, including X-ray taking, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation practices.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology across specialties like Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and General Dentistry.
  • Experience supporting four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Ability to perform medical imaging accurately while maintaining infection control standards.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems; experience with Curve or similar platforms is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Oral Surgery: 1 year (Required)

Language:

License/Certification:

  • AR Dental Assistant Permit including CPR/BLS Certification. (Required)
