Job Overview
We are looking for an incredibly awesome and experienced Dental Assistant With a minimum for 5 years experience in Oral surgery, to assist with All on X cases and IV sedation at our office in FAIRFAX VA. The ideal candidate will have a warm and friendly personality, possess a strong background in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental terminology, with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive team focused on advanced oral surgical treatments.
Duties
- Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care.
- Contact patients for post operative instructions as well as to schedule patients for Surgery.
- Verify the identity of patients and operative sites, Discuss with surgeon the nature of the surgical procedure including operative consent and methods of operative exposure
- Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Maintain an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning and irrigating equipment
- Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies for operative procedures
- Obtain and inspect sterile and non-sterile surgical equipment, supplies and instruments
- Monitor patient's intraoperative status, Patient vitals monitoring during procedures (IV sedation).
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols following aseptic techniques.
- Manage medical documentation, including accurate recording of medical history, sedation notes, and treatment details in electronic medical records (EMR) system - Curve Hero.
- Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain infection control standards by adhering to HIPAA regulations and proper sterilization procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dental assistant with expertise in oral surgery, implant procedures, and IV sedation support.
- Proficiency with EMR system, along with familiarity with Curve Hero is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to take high-quality X-ray images and operate medical imaging equipment effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages, including pediatrics when necessary.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
