Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system DSN cloud.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and communicate benefits clearly to patients to facilitate accurate billing and collections.
  • Schedule appointments for consultations, treatments, and follow-up visits utilizing dental office management software, ensuring optimal workflow.
  • Review and update patient medical records meticulously, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist patients with completing intake forms, gather medical histories, and document care plans accurately using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for billing purposes.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent customer service while managing appointment inquiries and patient concerns with tact and clarity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a dental or medical office setting, preferably within an oral surgery or specialty clinic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical billing practices including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification processes, and Medicare guidelines, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and patient service excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of health information management.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in scheduling, filing, and managing medical records.
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience along with clerical support skills including filing, typing (10 key), and multi-line phone operation is highly desirable. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
