Oral Surgery Office Front Desk

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Office Front Desk professional to be the welcoming face of our busy dental practice. In this vital role, you will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, verify insurance coverage, and handle administrative tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth daily operations, exceptional patient service, and seamless communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and efficient check-in process
  • Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing inquiries with precision using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient questions and routing calls appropriately
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and collection of copayments or outstanding balances
  • Support administrative functions including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a medical or dental front desk setting, preferably within an oral surgery or dental clinic environment
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling purposes
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing (10-key preferred)
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation review
  • Previous clinic or medical office experience is preferred; dental office experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
