Oral Surgery Patient Experience Coordinator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Oral Surgery Patient Experience Coordinator to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties

  • Manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance coverage, insurance authorization, and scheduling appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix.
  • Provide outstanding patient service by answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette, and addressing patient inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorizations, ensuring accurate documentation review and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical documentation review to facilitate accurate claims submission via platforms like Athenahealth or Eaglesoft.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records management, including filing, data entry, and updating electronic health information using EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Hospital Information Systems.
  • Support front desk operations by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out procedures, and coordinating care plans with the clinical team.
  • Perform office management duties such as filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and maintaining organized medical records to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Experience

  • Prior clinic or dental office experience with a strong background in medical administrative support and customer service.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing processes is essential for accurate documentation and insurance processing.
  • Experience in handling insurance verification procedures for Medicare and private insurers like Anthem or Aetna.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
  • Demonstrated competence in office management tasks including multi-line phone systems operation, filing systems, and health information management.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with dental or hospital information systems such as Eaglesoft or Carestream Dental software.
