Position Summary
The Scrub Nurse supports the oral surgeon during outpatient surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field, anticipating surgical needs, and ensuring patient safety throughout treatment. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Surgical Duties
- Maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures
- Starting IV’s for sedation patients
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively and report concerns promptly
- Administer medications during surgical procedures based on the providers orders
- Prep post-operative prescriptions for the patient to be discharged with based on the providers orders
Patient Care
- Assist with patient positioning and comfort before, during, and after procedures
- Provide chairside support and reassurance to patients
- Assist with post-operative instructions and patient education as directed
- Observe for and respond to signs of distress or complications
- Contact the patient 48-72 hours after procedures to follow up with the patient
Sterilization & Safety
- Follow OSHA, CDC, and state dental board guidelines
· Maintain accurate sterilization logs and compliance documentation
- Assist with emergency preparedness and response protocols
Administrative & Team Support
- Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff
- Ordering Medications
- Daily/Monthly Medication log
- Support inventory management of surgical supplies
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation as required
- Monitor medical records requested by the provider to safely treat the patient to include:
- Medical Clearance Request Forms
- Biopsy Request Forms
- Imaging reports
- Any additional information requested by the provider
- Assist with daily closing tasks

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
