Oral Surgery Surgical Assistant

A well-established oral surgery practice is looking for a Surgical Assistant with a strong interest in oral surgery, dental implants, and high-quality patient care.

This is a permanent, long-term position in a professional oral surgery setting. We are looking for someone who is responsible, reliable, mature, personable, and able to communicate well with patients and the clinical team.

Prior oral surgery or dental assisting experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has the right attitude, work ethic, computer skills, and desire to learn.

No evenings or weekends required.

Position Summary

As an Oral Surgery Surgical Assistant, you will play an important role in helping our team provide excellent patient care in a surgical setting. You will assist the oral surgeon during procedures, help prepare and turn over surgical rooms, support patient flow, maintain proper infection control protocols, and help ensure accurate documentation in the practice management and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during oral surgery, dental implant, and other surgical procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical trays
• Maintain proper sterilization and infection control protocols
• Take and process dental radiographs/CBCT imaging as needed
• Review and update patient medical histories
• Document clinical notes accurately in the EMR/practice management system
• Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients before and after treatment
• Help maintain smooth clinical flow throughout the day
• Support the doctor and team with patient care, organization, and follow-up

Experience Preferred

• Experience with dental imaging, panoramic X-rays, CBCT, or EMR systems

Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Schedule

• No evenings
• No weekends

Compensation

$23–$33 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and abilities.
