Full-Time Organic Analyst

Position Summary:
As an Organic Analyst your role would involve working in an environmental lab analyzing water, oil, soil, and sediment for potential contaminants. You will perform laboratory analyses, maintain logbooks, and record data and results accurately and effectively. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team. The individual in this position reports directly to the Organic Supervisor and is responsible for a number of specific tasks as outlined below under responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
· Perform required testing of client samples in accordance with Trace’s standard operating procedures in an accurate and timely fashion.
· Maintain precise, complete, legible and concurrent records of work performed in laboratory logbooks.
· Enter data and results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
· Perform various tests from start to finish including, but not limited to; sample preparation, solution preparation, maintenance of instruments, sample analysis and data entry
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or another related field
· 4+ years working in an analytical lab setting
· Experience with GC using FID/ECD and Agilent/HP GC/MS
· Experience in and knowledge of good laboratory practices
· Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting expected deadlines and keeping up with sample hold times
· Ability to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed by the workload
· Dexterity in hands and fingers in order to carry out daily tasks
· Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of the safe handling, usage and disposal of chemicals
· Highly motivated and energetic with the desire to continuously learn and establish a long-term career
· Strong work ethic and tenacity
· Knowledge of the following software: Thermo Chromeleon, Perkin Elmer TotalChrome, and HP/Aglient Chemstation
Details:
This is an hourly, full-time position with hours from 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday, plus overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. The wage for this position will be determined based on the applicant’s education and related work experience. This position is eligible for medical, dental, and life insurance, 401k, vacation time, and personal time upon completion of the introductory period. A pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check, and credit check are required for this position. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Relocation assistance will not be provided.
