Orthodontic Assistant

Dr's McLaughlin and Spendlove are looking for an Orthodontic Assistant to join our amazing team. Come work for the best in a fun, fast paced office helping patients of all ages achieve beautiful and healthy smiles.

We are willing to train the right person! Experience preferred but not necessary.

Job Duties include:

• assisting the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures
• taking dental radiographs (x-rays)
• sterilizing instruments and equipment
• helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after orthodontics treatment
• providing patients with instructions for oral care following procedures, such as the placement of an expander, braces or laser surgery.
• teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• taking impressions of patients' teeth (models of teeth)
• adjusting and placing arch wires, braces, bands, expanders, retainers and other orthodontic appliances, removal of braces
• maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• documenting procedures and services by charting in patient records
• ensuring operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
• maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Hours vary 35-40 weekly hours depending on the schedule. MUST have full availability Monday through Friday. We unfortunately cannot accommodate part time schedules at this time.
