Position Overview

You'll work chairside with the orthodontist and support front office operations, playing a key part in delivering an outstanding patient experience from start to finish.

The Orthodontic Assistant will play a key, multifaceted role—supporting chairside clinical care and assisting with essential front office responsibilities that ensure an outstanding patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support

• Prepare and maintain orthodontic instruments, materials, and operatories for patient care.
• Assist the orthodontist with bonding, debonding, wire changes, adjustments, and records appointments.
• Capture and process diagnostic records, including digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and clinical photography.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment progress.
• Maintain precise clinical notes, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.

Front Office & Practice Support

• Greet and communicate with patients and families in a warm, professional manner.
• Support scheduling, appointment confirmations, and patient communications.
• Assist with new patient exams and consultations, including records collection and data entry.
• Coordinate with the administrative team to manage patient flow and ensure on-time scheduling.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment.
• Participate in community engagement, marketing, or social media initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience required (orthodontic experience preferred).
• Indiana Radiology Certification required.
• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Comfortable learning and using digital tools such as imaging software and intraoral scanners.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
