Job Summary:
Come join our growing team! We seek a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. The ideal candidate will have prior orthodontic assisting experience, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude. CDA or COA certification preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures
- Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort
- Take orthodontic records, including impressions, intraoral scans, and X-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, and appliance/post-treatment care
- Perform various expanded duties, including arch wire changes
- Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient daily schedule
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant required
- X-ray certification
- Excellent chairside manner and strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances and terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality
