Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up materials, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed to maintain infection control standards
  • Take CBCT X-rays, as well as 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are adhered to
  • Manage patient records using by updating medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately
  • Provide patient education on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene best practices tailored for pediatric patients
  • Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Maintain clinical supplies inventory and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly for efficient four-handed dentistry workflows

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 1+ years of orthodontic / dental experience (preferred)
  • Orthodontic / Dental industry experience is helpful, but not required
  • Great customer service and outstanding written and communication skills with professional and courteous
  • Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to pediatric patients and their families
  • High energy with engaging personality
  • Proactive mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to support the office team
  • Well-groomed and appropriate professional appearance
  • Support office community and sponsorship events outside of office
  • Reliable form of transportation
  • Participate in morning huddle, patient chart review, and routine office meetings
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and be a team player
  • Desire to make the day fun for team members and patients alike.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
