Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Summary
As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our orthodontic team. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a welcoming environment for patients while assisting with various clinical tasks. You’ll be at the forefront of transforming smiles and enhancing the overall patient experience, ensuring that every visit is smooth and enjoyable.

What you’ll do

  • Assist orthodontists during procedures by preparing instruments and materials, ensuring a seamless workflow.
  • Take and develop X-rays, utilizing your knowledge of medical imaging to provide accurate diagnostics.
  • Manage patient records with precision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic treatments, employing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal dental health.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the dental team in a pediatric setting, ensuring a friendly atmosphere for younger patients.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with 3D scanners and general dentistry practices.
  • Familiarity with orthodontic and pediatric dentistry procedures.
  • Previous dental clinic experience as a dental receptionist or assistant is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical coding and records management is a plus.
