Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Responsibilities of an orthodontic assistant include chairside assisting, sterilization, lab work, and patient education. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, be reliable, be motivated to learn, and be able to multi-task and take initiative in a busy environment. Our office is paperless, so candidates need excellent computer skills. Drake Ortho assistants love creating relationships with our patients and their families. Dental/orthodontic experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilites Include:

*Deliver high quality and compassionate care to patients and families

*Perform orthodontic adjustments such as changing wires and replacing ties.

*Prepare dental trays with needed equipment for procedures

*Sterilize chairs and equipment in between patients

*Take diagnostic records including x-rays, impressions, photographs, and Invisalign prep

*Lab work such as pouring up and trimming models and making retainers

*Educating patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic instructions

*Schedule patient appointments

Must be able to work Mon 7:30-5:15 and Tues, Wed, Thurs 6:30-4:15
