Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide essential support to orthodontists by preparing patients, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow. Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using chairside assisting techniques.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed.
  • Manage patient records using OpenDental
  • Provide patient education on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist to enhance patient flow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on orthodontics or pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Open Dnetal is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology,orthodontic terminology, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and orthodontics.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients of all ages about procedures and oral health practices.
  • Certification in dental assisting or equivalent; additional training in orthodontist is a mut!

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
