Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures such as bracket placements, adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide patient education on orthodontic care, including appliance maintenance, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment instructions.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and follow infection control standards to ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
- Conduct vital signs assessments when necessary and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures involving children of all ages.
- Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other medical imaging tools with proficiency.
- Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow and reduce procedure time while delivering compassionate patient care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with specialized knowledge in orthodontics or general dentistry preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
- Proficiency in taking X-rays, medical imaging, and understanding dental terminology along with anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health not required but preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining clinical safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly to pediatric patients and their families.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
